Uttara Kannada district in Karnataka, known for its lush green pleasant environment, has many relics of the glorious valiant rulers of the Kadamba dynasty of Banavasi. In the backdrop of rich evergreen forests, Yellapur- a sleepy town is situated with underprivileged people.
Vishwadarshan Education Society has a vision to make, Yellapura a synonym for education and learning. It is just 60 kms from Hubli, with air, rail, and bus connection from the state capital Bangalore. It is about 160 kms from Goa. Which also has air links from many important destinations.
Viswadarshana Education Society ® has blossomed in Yellapur not merely to educate the children of Uttara Kannada, but also to serve the people of the nation. Vishwadarshana Education Society has established several institutions like a Boys High school at Idagundi and a nursery School, a Girls High School, a Pre-University College and an English Medium School at Yellapur. Besides, a Teachers Training College at Yellapur and a School of Nursing at Ankola have been established by Vishwadarshana Education Society.
Plans are afoot to make this most backward taluk into an Educational Centre. The construction of school building at Yellapur, and construction of a hostel building for School of Nursing at Ankola and a 100 bed hospital at the same place is in progress.

- 2004: Viswadarshana English Medium High School started.
- 2005: Viswadarshana Teachers Training Institute started.
